5p18

Over the course of the next few days, I'm going to be rolling out these dossiers for the different characters. The last portraits for Zoe are here. I usually crop the head shots to somewhere around the collarbone, so excuse the weird looking boobies.

As for how I'm doing... A few days ago, I played minesweeper. I'm suppose to be off video games for a year, and well, I relapsed playing minesweeper. I played it for 5 hours. Instantly the next day, I had visions of violence- Shooting things with blaster rifles or submachine guns, throwing fireballs while imagining the area of effect, and then I took out my pocket knife and started waving it around like an idiot in real life. Good thing I didn't record it like the Star Wars Kid.

The first step of solving an addiction is acknowledging it. I admitted it on this blog. Step 1 completed. Next is to prevent enablers. I uninstalled Minesweeper from my computer.

Now I'm starting to think I should give up video games for good. For, like, Forever. My personal problem with video games, is that I find them addicting and I'm unable to work when I have to fulfill the urge. I have come up with the following ideal activities in lieu of video games:
  • Reading a book
  • Playing board games
  • Watching Movies (I already do a lot of this while I work)
  • Hanging out with human beings
  • Getting better at art
  • Jogging
And some more time/money consuming activities that I will partake in after AD3 is completed.
  • Shooting real guns
  • Hockey
  • Traveling Inexpensively
  • Dancing
  • Tennis
Maybe I will be able to ultimately stop playing video games forever (my own are excluded of course). For now, let's just concentrate on getting through the next month without them.

How do you like the dossiers style? Did you enjoy reading Veronica's background? Do you like Zoe's visual appearance? Do you have a wife, like Steveman? Fill a lonely artist's inbox and comment on your idea of major boobage below.

  1. Minesweeper is kind of like junk food. It stimulates the pleasure centers of your brain but it doesn't give you any benefit. You gotta recognize those things and...well, just practice moderation.

Or just stop them entirely, I guess, if that's what works for you...

  2. I like the way the documents look. Will you be using them in game as like.. each girls "stats" page description? Be pretty cool to have the information there and available.

    1. Yeah. I think it looks pretty cool, but at the same time it doesn't make much sense.

It's 2125 and Isabel uses a typewriter to write this stuff up. And then she prints it, eww. That's so 2010. I mean did they even have 3d printers back then?

You'd figure Isabel would just wave her digital glove fingers in the air and throw the files to the Captain instead of making sure they had ample provisions of paper and ink.

Eugh. I disgust myself. I just think it looks cool. Maybe I can go a slight step up, make the documents on an old computer screen, y'know the monochrome green and black stuff? With all the scanlines.

Meh. I'll stick with the paper route.

  3. Can't figure how to get the "Reply" button to work lol.. Click it and nothing happens.

But I see what you're saying, 100+ years would make a difference in how far we've came with keeping information documented. But even today when computers are the main things you use day to day, people still keep written down/typed out documents regardless. Maybe it could be like that as a reason, Isabel's old fashioned in that way and feels it's more reliable to just keep things on paper, or maybe she's a "N00B" at computers and though she's taken military training she hasn't or dosn't take interest in computers for it?

Food for thought lol. End of the day it's your call. But yeah I do like the way the documents look, very cool.

  4. It would be funny if one of the girls came into your office and found her dossier on your desk with jizz stains all over it.

also, i really like this dossier. its got a nice official feel to it and makes me think of an NPC desc from some military themed TTRPG adventure book.
