I'll show you guys some things the art department (me) has been working on.
This is the sniper rifle. I guess I have trouble considering it a sniper rifle, or how else to classify it; as it's semi automatic with digital optics and it has a bullpup config. It's a sniper's rifle, so there.
Zoe is using a gunslinger stance. Cowboy Gunslingin' is still alive today, and it's a sport focused on drawing the gun the fastest and hitting a target with speed and precision. It's probably unwieldy to try with a dual barreled revolver, but Zoe is exceptionally talented at handguns.
Beatrice is cloned from Larissa. She does look unique enough, I think. I hope everyone loves their badass babes. In game terminology we like to call this a "sprite clone". I like pixel work, something about embracing its simplicity, embracing the pixel. Maybe one day I could lead a team of sprite artists to make a game with lots of beautiful animation, eh, one can dream. Beatrice is showing a little more skin than Larissa. Allow me to point you to the delicious waist she has. Yum <3 .="" p="">

There are plenty of semi-automatic sniper rifles now, and some in bullpup form. As for the digital optics, I expect no less for future tech. Í guess anything that's accurate over distance can be a sniper rifle. It just doesn't look like a traditional sniper. I understand part of that is b/c the nature of being a bullpup sniper, and I think that makes a good pairing, theoretically it should keep barrel length and accuracy up but decrease overall length, so it isn't so unwieldy. Sniper rifles usually have a more streamlined look.(Less crap because they are heavy enough). It does seem very bulky/beefy, and the underslung piece is a lot of mass(although a bipod makes sense there), maybe a little more barrel and barrel shroud. But all this makes sense with current and more traditional equipment. You're working with future tech, and I think plenty of us trust your aesthetics, so I'll be happy with what you do.
ReplyDeleteAlso just wanted to add that I appreciate the depth you are trying to put into the game. I can say that I was happily engaged with the previous games beyond the yummy times, which is what I think makes your games stand out a little more.
ReplyDeleteLooking awesome, keep up the great work! Love the girls as always.
ReplyDeleteThe pixel art backgrounds look detailed.

Will noncombatant NPCs make an appearance in pixel form too?
There aren't many noncombatant NPCs in the game at all... so no, they won't be appearing in pixel form. The pixel art isn't going to be used extensively... It's only used for combat.
DeleteIt'd be pretty cool to fully create a pixel art based world like that and be able to move your character around in a big environment, but such a project is out of the financial scope of hentaicook games.

Something like this game's isometric perspective would be nice... but I really do hate the "chibi" sprites that they have. I don't see the appeal in it at all, personally at least. My characters will always stay normally proportioned.
The character Sprites are looking fantastic.

ReplyDeleteWhat about a DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) then? Isn't as long-range as a sniper rifle, but has more accuracy and range than a normal Rifle.
ReplyDeleteYour design looks very similar to that of a Kel-Tec RFB.
I haven't seen the Kel-Tec RFB before you mentioned it. I guess it's a happy coincidence.
DeleteThe Anti-Horgosian... Marksman Rifle didn't need to look very different from a real gun. If you took off the prop underslung attachment and the optic, it's practically a normal gun. The game is set only 110 years into the future, and humans are only allowed to use their own ballistics (so no laser weaponry!); but we're still allowed to use different attachments, modifications, and ammunition for our guns.
You've probably said this at some point in the past, but will the kickstarter bonuses (the upgraded game versions) be available for purchase after release? 'cause I don't really like using kickstarter (nothing about you, just don't trust them), and also the poster would come with crazy shipping fees.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there isn't anything exclusive to kickstarter or offbeatr that you can't purchase within the game at a later date, and any of the pricey rewards can still be arranged with me.
DeleteOh awesome! Now I just gotta hold on till it's released (Curses! If only I had the time machine from AD2S)
DeleteHey, longtime fan here. Loving the work that you've shown so far. Any estimates on a completion date? Even a broad range (e.g. 3-6 months or 9-12 months) would help the fan base set some personal expectations.
