If you've added me on Skype and have yet to play, just keep yourself logged into skype and if we're ever on at the same time, and I'm not predisposed, I will be happy to give you the beta/tutorial/answer any questions.
I'm curious: have you heard of Kimochi? It's a service that's aiming to be a distribution platform for Hentai games. Do you think you'd ever contribute with them?
Steamy/Kimochi looks great. I've talked to the owner and he seems like a very intelligent and class act sorta guy. Initially, I didn't trust him because he wasn't willing to divulge personal details about himself. He still isn't afaik, but he has the experience, knowhow, and tech skills to prove that he is the rightful heir to the porno game payment processor throne.
I have a positive outlook for the Steamy service, but the service is still in the works and hasn't withstood the test of time. If Steamy is given the monopoly as a gateway to porn games, it runs the risk of running their own policies that you may not agree with, like large royalties, or any other consequence of giving too much uncontested power to one company.
If we compare it to Valve's Steam, a lot of gamers trust Steam, but you have to keep in mind that alternative options exist there, whereas Steamy's alternatives are non-existent. EA even runs a promotion of a completely free game on their alternative service. They are bleeding to compete.
I'm not trying to be critical of Steamy/Kimochi, I'm just saying none of us know what it will be yet. Will AD3 be on Steamy? Absolutely. IMO, any commercial porn game would be mistaken not to put their game on steamy because of the increased exposure, but then again, these smaller businesses don't have a choice, because of the lack of competition. The owner told me that Steamy's purpose is not to compete with other existing services (offbeatr/patreon), but I think it will be inevitable. The western porno game market might not seem very big to you, but keep in mind that there's a lot of furry content that Japan wants absolutely nothing to do with (Furries can charge for content without worrying about competing against free hentai on the interwebs).
AD3 can be played as a non-explicit game, however, meaning that we have a lot of more options available to us. We can put our game on Steam(and Steamy!) for maximum exposure. Quick disclaimer, AD3 wasn't produced with a general audience rating in mind; the world building and gameplay is just so complex from its peers that even if the game skipped every hentai part with a prompt that said "uhhh we're just going to skip the naughty bits", the game would still feel very playable.
glad to see a beta of the game up and running. i would opt in but im currently juggling work with summer classes and i don't need another distraction. i look forward to trying out your beta in a month or 2 when i have more free time. good luck on the rest of your game!
