5/13

The past two months have been difficult for me. I was depressed to the point where it was affecting my health. Coming out to everyone (insert gay joke) as a depressed person certainly threatens the confidence of the project's completion, but it's the truth, and it was never really a secret. If you follow the blog enough, it's very apparent that I've been Ahab'ing this game Moby Dick style. I'm switching gears to "Just Finish It" speed. Programmer Will is working on the game's battle mode. I was still working on the game in the past two months, just not as fast as I wanted to. My current strategy is to balance hard work with lots of fun and IRL social interaction.

8:30p9- Worked on porting existing animations to other survivors. Worked on the Shot Launcher animation.

10:30p11- Finished Shot Launcher shoot, Shot launcher Reload. Grabbed a sniper rifle shoot sound and edited it to make it sound slightly futuristic. Worked on Sniper shoot.

11:30p12- Worked on sniper shoot and sniper reload. Detected ant reconnaissance scout. Initiated emergency clean-up operation around workstation. Came up with a good story ending idea for Stella.

12:30a13- Wrote down some story notes. Worked on sniper reload.

3:30a13- Ended nap/break. Muuurghh..
4:30a14- Finalized basic firing and reloading animations. Worked a bit on story events.

5:30a15- Wrote story events.

6:30a16- Wrote some easy parts of Stella's story.... I can keep going.... Nope. Brain functions are beginning to cease. Gnight.

  1. As a fellow sufferer of depression, I can understand where you're coming from. Take time, do what you need to and find your solace. The game looks to be coming along rather excellently and I can hardly wait, keep up the good work.

  2. Small question: is there any particular reason that Isabel's file lists the state before the city? It's not a big deal or anything, I'm just curious.

  3. Good to have you back! I also know how bad it can get with depression. Been worried honestly. So I'm glad to see you up and kicking! Can't wait to see how much more cool stuff you come up with.

  5. Glad your okay though as a fellow depression victim I can understand completely what those kind of feelings can do to a person & I hope that you can make through it & I hope you feel better with socializing with people & comfort from love ones :)
