4/23

Spent the day out and about. I figured if I was going to put my car to rest, and I really only have a week left with it, that I'd spend a little time with the rest of the world before closing the door and working until my eyes fell out.

Spent a few hours at 7-11. Hung out with the guy that works there. It's kind of like an episode of Clerks. He showed me pictures of this girl he was talking to online. He'd never met her. She had a double chin in one picture. He claimed one picture to be a good picture of her, and I agreed, but it was only because she tilted the camera above her face and hid her double chin underneath a bird's eye perspective. Hung out with a 65 year old man. He was very wise, but incomprehensible. He also really likes legs. He reached out to me and patted me on the shoulder. He will die lonely. If you ever wondered where the expired food goes, Old Mike takes them and gives them to the homeless.

Met up with David at a card game/board game store. David doesn't know it, but I'm very fond of him. He's a church going, unemployed, unplugged gaming nerd. David is the only friend that doesn't know I work on hentai games. Sometimes I'll pester him questions for my "Sci-Fi Project", like how a religious community would react if they saw aliens, or if he felt whether or not aliens existed, and evolution. I consider him very fortunate. He lives life with no future (except Heaven), but he's still really happy.

People lead different lives. Looking for his next lay, feeding the homeless, or just playing some good old games. Theoretical meaning of life = The intended result of actions performed during one's lifetime. I could live a life like David by gaming and making carbon copies of AD2. No. Our time is limited. I can no longer live a life without improvement. It's time to sharpen the blade. I want to provide a meaningful product, a result of ambition and for once, determination. If I'm successful, then I'll reevaluate what I want to do. Probably go out there, explore, and help people out.

Back to work.

.Zoe's story.

Okay! Okay. Time for me to get it out of my system.

Zoe-
Age- 24
Height- Normal (there's 3 heights in this game!)
Weight- Thick. Not fat, thick.
Cup Size- D (although I think I enlarged that. Yeah, that stat's wrong. A wise man once said: Fat chicks with small tits. There is no God.)
Personality- INFJ or INFP. I'll get back to this one.
Speaks in an abstract manner, with direct things only spoken when critical.

Zoe is a fan fiction writer (involving sex) and a gunsmith. The gunsmithing part is there to show the audience a little about guns, and to make Zoe a little cooler.

Date 1-
Zoe starts off the game as married to Jake for four years. Jake was at ground zero (the mess hall filled with aliens) on Day 0. Zoe assumes Jake is dead and is very depressed. She wishes she at least KNEW if he was actually dead. Zoe is emotionally scarred and seeks emotional support from the Captain. Good thing there's no councilor! Captain decides to help her look for him at the Mess Hall, to confirm if he is actually dead.

Date 2-
10 Day Minimum. You're at the Mess Hall… Jake’s not there. A nearby locker room stored his things. Our heroes find a note left from Jake. “Hey Zoe! Want to go to our favorite restaurant?". The note drives Zoe paranoid. She starts thinking that Jake either wrote that before the alien invasion incident, or perhaps Jake came back to this scene and wrote that. Maybe he was very cryptic about it because he didn't want the aliens to be alerted to his presence. In any case, Zoe will need to go to her favorite restaurant to see if Jake is actually there.

Date 3
Day 20 minimum. You arrive at the restaurant. Jake is nowhere to be found. Instead, we find a camera recording of Jake with a woman named Reina. Zoe has known Reina for a year and knew that Jake sometimes got along too well with Reina. In the video, however, they're deeply in love. Zoe is enraged... frenzied. She thinks of killing Reina. It makes sense. Kill Reina, and Jake stops thinking with his dick. He comes back to the woman he loves. The Captain explains to her that these thoughts are wrong. They're too instinctual. With time, shit will be clearer and things will get better.

Date 4
Day 30 minimum. Captain explains that there's plenty of fish in the sea, and asks Zoe out on a date. She accepts. They procure different firearms for the crew at a weapons locker. Zoe makes light of what she said before, but the Captain plays along and recommends her a good firearm if she ever wanted to kill Reina. Zoe takes a great deal of liking into the Captain... but for every step she takes forward, it seems that there's something wrong. She calls him pet names that obviously don't belong to him.

Date 5
Day 40 minimum. Zoe is making her transition well. She's starting to genuinely love the Captain, calling him "My Captain". She shares an erotic novel that she wrote. It's about brushing her teeth. But in a sexual manner. It would be great to have a female voice actress for Zoe. We'd have her read out loud what Zoe wrote. So it goes like "The dirty stick creamed against her gentle but firm teeth" (I'll get better! Sorry!). The scene culminates when the Captain himself is reading aloud the part of the personified toothbrush and by now, we actually have an animation of her teeth getting brushed by the Captain from a standing doggy style position.

Date 6
Day 45 minimum. Medical Officer Veronica informs the Captain that Jake and Reina have died. Their mortal wounds were inflicted by the Iacchans. The Captain decides not to tell Zoe, and to jettison the corpses to space without her knowing. Veronica agrees to this.

Date 7
Day 50 minimum (I'm betting Zoe will be the toughest character to win with). Zoe is writing a new novel. It's about the Captain. The Captain is intrigued. Zoe tells the Captain that she has a surprise for him, and the surprise may or may not be sexually related. He follows her into a dark room. Zoe spins an office chair to reveal Zoe's corpse. The imaginary Zoe disappears. Zoe sits there with a suicide gun wound to the head. A tape recorder is on her lap. When the player clicks on it, he hears Zoe's last words... "I'll always be waiting for you..." The "date" ends abruptly.

Date 8
Multiple crew members are poking fun or enjoying the new erotic novel. When Makoto comes to congratulate you on a finely written novel, Zoe accepts the compliments. Makoto talks to Zoe about the book as if she had been talking to her all along. Zoe, giddy from success, leads the Captain to her bunk. They have sex while Zoe points a pistol to the Captain's head, ending the scene by explaining the philosophical values of existential angst.

I think I'm pretty crazy for writing this. There are parallels to the recent happenings of my own life. Yep, I'm Zoe. Would Ashley be scared if she read this? I'm sure she would. The last time Zoe is actually alive is Date 4. That's actually where the parallels to my own life cease as well. The story, No, the situation of me writing this story, has parallels to the movie "Basic Instinct". In it, Sharon Stone's character is a writer that writes about how a fictional character was murdered, except in the movie, a real murder takes place that copycats Sharon's book. The scary part is that Sharon is the actual killer. She uses the book as an alibi, because why would a writer publicly write about killing someone and then carry it out in perfect detail?

It's scary to think I would release this kind of story to people, but I can justify it. It's a good story, and I honestly do think it blows away every other story the AD series has had to offer (sorry John). To modify the story in any way would be to rob it of it's artistic potential. The story represents real feelings that I've had, but they do not represent real actions that I've made or will make.

Tried out the Diablo 3 open beta. After an hour, I figured I had enough cause it really sucks.

I really suck at drawing spaceships. The current ISS picture looks horrible. A redesign was in order. I had a few theories as to what's going on here. Space Stations look stupid. Name your favorite space craft. It's not going to be a station. It's going to be an X-Wing, a Viper, or maybe the Enterprise might win based on sentimental value, but these ships look cool because they're aerodynamic. The Death Star, while ominous, looks cheesy. While researching the interwebs, there's a bunch of top 100 lists for spacecrafts, and most of the stations don't fare very well.

Maybe it's the shape. Spheres and circular stations don't beat the dagger like spaceship. Maybe it's a phallus reference. Help me out, H.R.Giger.

I had another theory that all spaceships look stupid simplified. The problem was that I was calling my space station stupid, but it was on a piece of paper, in black and white, and crudely drawn. When you think of a spaceship, you see it against a space backdrop, and it's got all these panels and wiring and visual technobabble.

Ah visual technobabble. In Star Trek, you've got your phaser, tricorder, communicator, and other possible devices. Other science fiction characters are wearing a lot of funky technobabble because they need to be prepared for every function. The problem with technobabble in the future is the iphone. Everything you have should be reduced to one gadget. We invent things slower than we can compact them. So while I'm personally in the camp that you should make characters look as visually complex as possible, because that's cool, there's few examples of it in real life- The astronaut, and the tool man are pretty cool.

As an experiment, I tried drawing popular spaceships in really simple designs, like the Millenium Falcon or other ships I knew from my head. I did this without looking at google images, and removed all presence of technobabble from the drawing. It turns out a lot of these spaceships look pretty stupid if you take away their function.

So. I need to draw a cool Space Station. The space station is a really important "character", and should be prominently displayed with promotional media. Hell, it's the first thing you'll see when you start the game. But I can't spend FOREVER creating this space station.

How do I draw spaceships?

Let's define the starship's parameters.

The Iacchus Space Station. It is a human funded expedition, but it makes sense that the space station would have been somewhat old, seeing as Humans are relatively new to the Galactic System. It's funded by the Tierel corporation.

The station uses centrifugal force as its means of gravity. This means that you can travel to the lower end of the station and...appear on the top end.

Statistics (make em up!)
Officers (ship duty)- 100
Passengers- 400
Size- 1,200 meters, 500 meters habitable
Fuel- Enough for 2.2 trips (not round trips). No extra fuel is provided because Tierel hates us.
Reactor- Nuclear?
Solar Panels- Yes. Two moveable.
Escape Pods- 50. All jettisoned by the start of AD3.
Docking Ring (external)- 1, with a capacity of 4 vehicles. 3 spots are taken by June 7th.
Support Vehicle- 2, with a capacity of 10 each and no FTL.
Pressure Door bay- 3
Weapons- 0, but possible to repurpose external 3 remote manipulator arms.
Communications- ICS (inter-orbit communications system)
Orbit- Low-Iacchus Orbit, with geosynchronous orbit. Us stupid humans call it LEO, go figure. Defining the orbit is a tough challenge. I want to say that the Station goes into low orbit so that escape by drifting off into space would serve harmful for the ship somehow, because you don't have the atmosphere protecting you.
Propulsion- Tonaga (made that word up) Fuel Boosters power the main engines, followed by orbital thrusters for maintaining orbit/whatever the fuck you need to do
Tractor Beam- I really want a tractor beam for story purposes, but a tractor beam might have to technically come after artificial gravity.

So as you can see by the stats, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't spend forever on it, and I can't hire a technical advisor. So I kinda just have to BS it. I think it'll be fun when the player realizes he can go across the other side of the map because of the station's centrifugal force, and it'll be fun to explain that to him, but there's a lot of concepts I'm having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around.

Gonna take a week "off" to learn stuff. I am taking a crash course on Science Fiction Hentai Games. I've already pirated or accessed my local library for a variety of materials.

So here's my objectives for the week:
Learn how to write sex- "The Joy of Writing Sex" by Elizabeth Benedict
Learn how to write stories- "On Writing" Stephen King
Learn English- Elements of Style
Learn how to Digitally Paint
Make a damn space station
and a whole day dedicated to learning female anatomy if I have time.

2PM- I did a little more research on spaceships, and then I read half of "On Writing". Stephen King says I should read Elements of Style. I added it to my to do list for this week.

So I'm reading this book. I get giddy with these ideas for my own story, so I hop out of my seat and pace around the room. It's like studying in school, but there's that girl across the room you can't stop thinking about.

I'll write about Zoe tomorrow. Till then, it's nappynoo for this cutiecoo.

4/20

1AM- Proofread the AD3 Design Document. It's good. I will be sharing parts of it over the next weeks, to give you guys something to read. As far as the basic level game design goes, it's finished. What's missing are the real specifics, like the exact layout of the space station, or every character's exact story.

Happy 4/20 everybody. I have done pot once. It didn't work, but I hear it's common for that to happen on your first try. My friend was affected by pot and said that he became addicted to it for two years. I know statistically Alcohol is more addictive, and I do drink Alcohol socially. Well, there's a time and a place for pot... guess it's not today. Cause today Diablo 3's going open beta!!

http://kotaku.com/5903645/this-weekend-everyone-can-play-diablo-iii-even-you-and-you

I am selling my car, the "Millennium Falcon". The bucket of bolts didn't pass smog recently. I was asked by a mechanic that I trust to pony up $250. On top of a re-registration of 80$... no thanks. So instead I'm sending it to the DMV trasher, where I'll get $1000 for it!

That money's going towards a used motorcycle in the future. I wonder what I'll name her? Probably a real girl's name. After all, we ride motorcycles, not drive them, so I will be riding "______".

The Millenium Falcon:
Toyota Camry 93
Tape cassette player
Tags are not updated
No air conditioning
Driver side window broken
Windshield damaged
230k miles
Did not pass smog, must pay 250 to get it fixed.
Great leather seats!
Tires are pretty fresh

There's no way I'll be able to sell this thing on Craigslist for over $500. I'll retire the damn car, but the DMV isn't accepting applications till July 1st. Yeesh.

5AM- So here I am pacing back and forth in my room for 15 minutes. OK. Time to write in the blog.

The main issue today is the Main Character. I'm at a crossroads here, and I'm sure I'm writing so much on this blog that I doubt anyone reads this crap anymore. That's okay, I write all the time to myself, it's just that I only recently began to make the writing public to my audience.

The Main Character: Are you the main character, or should the MC be his own character??

The more I debate this, the more I am inclined to say that it must be either or, it cannot be both. At first I wanted it to be both. I don't think MC from AD1/2 had any character at all. He was a flying penis, a genie that made womens' wishes come true. Didn't you feel a disconnect when these girls had sex with the player? Some of them make sense... Sarah wants to have sex with the MC, because she loves sex and wanted to make Teresa jealous. But other characters... they do it because they fall in "love" with the player, but who the fuck is the player? A genie.

So. After I made a rough draft for Elaine, I realized the Player's character wasn't significant enough. He needed flaws. Here's my current description of Player (or Captain):

Captain- The Captain is a highly introspective character. He has STRONG sexual urges that tend to lead him to successful and unsuccessful relationships.

That second sentence stopped me dead in the water. Personally, I can keep it in the pants, but I wanted his urge to be despicable. The player can't control the urge. It does, in a way, reflect the player's true wants. There is a very thin line between unlikable character and character with flaws, however, so I erased the strong sexual urges and now I'm stuck with nothing again.

And that's the issue here: If the player is allowed to control their character completely, the character becomes a Mary-Sue.

Mary Sue stories—the adventures of the youngest and smartest ever person to graduate from the academy and ever get a commission at such a tender age. Usually characterized by unprecedented skill in everything from art to zoology, including karate and arm-wrestling. This character can also be found burrowing her way into the good graces/heart/mind of one of the Big Three [Kirk, Spock, and McCoy], if not all three at once. She saves the day by her wit and ability, and, if we are lucky, has the good grace to die at the end, being grieved by the entire ship.

This is where video games have a unique edge over other art forms. It empowers the player. Name any game with personal choice. Let's see here, by the end, you are a person of high prestige (king, savior of the universe, savior of the wasteland). The only "flaw" a player ever has to face is when he has to choose from two different outcomes. Save a bus full of children, or this woman? Whatever you choose, that's not a character flaw. That's just a preference.

So it goes to show you that there's different preferences where this is involved. Some people prefer to be Commander Shepard, the ultimate hero that goes to every planet and saves everyone. Some people like challenges and are masochistic about it.

-People are different.
-People will tend to either prefer super flawless characters, or flawful (sp) characters.
-If given a choice, would you give your own character a flaw, with no benefit in return?

I've always been in the camp that there is a "Game Designer versus Gamer" mentality. The gamer feels empowered when he builds his defenses, but this is a reward and is generally not as exciting as destroying his foes. There's no better way to do that than challenging the player and having the player barely survive the encounter. (gosh I sound like the Saw guy)

The Megaman series is like this. You have these 8 bosses. Go figure out how to beat them. Done that? Okay. Now the final stage is that you have to beat them all in one sitting. It's possible, because You, Megaman, have defeated them all before. Now you just have to do it all at the same time. See how much you've progressed since the beginning of the game? It's Actual Player Skill that's much more empowering than Character Skill.

But not everyone plays Megaman, or games in which player skill is dependent. People also play MMOs, where the game is designed to cater to a more casual audience and time=skill. I know you raiders are out there, but let's be honest- level 1 to level max is a grind, and if you try to challenge yourself by taking on something too high level, you're penalized for powergaming.

Player Skill. That's how I prefer games, so that's how I'll make em. And for you easy players out there, I'll throw in cheats or an easy mode. Done deal, but the game is designed with player skill first and foremost.

So we've established that I prefer Player Skill, and I'm trying to see how this helps me choose between having a "perfect" player character versus a defined character with flaws.

Currently, the game has 4 backgrounds you can choose from-
Doctor, Soldier, Survivor, Noble.

Would it make sense if I started giving these backgrounds flaws? Should I make these 4 characters into actual characters? Dr. Madman, Sergeant Haywire, Grimjaw, and Prince Bieber? Or would you rather play as "Doctor Perfectly Me", who is self tailored?

Let's outline the choices

Captain A- Captain is a defined character with defined flaws, eg: Arrogance, Sexual Urges. The choices you make are strictly choices that the Captain's defined character considers, so he'll never even consider choices that the player solely wishes.
Captain B- Captain is the Player. He has zero flaws.
Captain C- Captain is one of four defined characters (like Prince Bieber). These characters have unique flaws and cannot avoid them when the situation arises, but the player is free to make his own choices (While C sounds like it's the perfect form of both worlds, it's also extremely time consuming to implement)

Yep, it all comes down to this-
"Why can't you make games that everyone likes?"
versus
"Why can't you make games that people will love, at the risk of having people that hate?"

Captain 1A- The Captain has strong sexual urges. His wiles do not always work, and in fact, drive women away. It’s when he learns to suppress his urge and master his flaw that women start to accept him. (So for looking past sex, you are rewarded with sex. Ironic.)
Captain 1B- The Captain is Lawfully Good. He does not rape women… but the player can force him to. Essentially, the player is the Captain’s character flaw. If the Captain ends up raping a woman, he starts trying to console himself, or even her. (hmm this game just took the wrong direction, however logical)

Captain 1C- The Captain is arrogant, impatient, rude, controlling, realist. He’s also optimistic, has a commanding presence, and is respected for his ideologies and blunt honesty. He has somewhat strong sexual urges, but the player is allowed to keep this in check. The Captain gets pass these character flaws at the end of each character story. Maybe just a little.

Yup. Captain's character decided- Captain 1C.

Happy 3 Months, Ashley

Happy three months, Ashley. It's been three months of loneliness for me... But I realize that it's also been a good three months for you and your new boyfriend. Discovering love in a relationship is a beautiful thing...

Consider the song an anniversary gift. It's got Layne from Alice in Chains, so I know you'd like it.

I drink tea and water now. I wash and fold my own damn clothes, but it's mostly just underwear. I'm running 6 days a week. Sometimes I imagine you running alongside me, but I don't think you'd be very much ahead of me anymore like you use to be. Reading a few of your books too, and I bought my own. I'm not playing video games much anymore. While I love games, they've taught me enough. I can't continue to grow if I play them. I'd like to think I'm working hard and I'm over us... but my dreams of you continue to haunt me.

Robert's kid is walking. I still run D&D. David hasn't changed. I don't talk to Andrew or Minh much anymore. Lance left. We got a new white guy. He's really nice and I celebrated my birthday with him last month. Nhan and I hate each other, but in a weird way that we're still friends. Trevor and I are good friends too.

Remember that guy Doug, that we use to hate? Well, he's a good friend of mine now. He's an uber otaku, but you can't blame the guy... He's the nicest person I know. We just...never gave him a chance. That's one way I've changed. I stopped looking inwards and started to really talk to people to understand them. I make it a policy to say "good afternoon" to someone if I see them twice in a jog. Most people don't respond...but some do.

I don't really care if you're reading this or not, because it's impossible for the Ashley I once knew to be reading this. She's changed. But so have I. We're growing farther apart.

I've stopped dating around. I use to do it to try to fill the void in my heart, but I'd like to say that the void is growing smaller. Or maybe I'm just trying to run from the fact that void's even there. As long as I hold onto this feeling that we'd be together again one day... the void won't go away.

Love and best regards,
Michael

P.S. Fuck.

4/19

4:30-7 Woke up. I went straight to work on finalizing the lore and timeline. Any help looking over the timeline would be appreciated. I did leave out a few spoilers from this post.

Timeline of Events Prior to AD3

2038- SETI successfully analyzes an alien radio transmission and responds.

2052- SETI’s response took fourteen years to get to its destination, but the alien’s reply, using special warp technology only takes three days to arrive. A one month long transmission arrives, informing that Turellians are already on their way to greet us. The transmission contains primers of language, science, physics, and knowledge of further extraterrestrial life.
2056- Turellians arrive at Earth. The first Turellians are observers and question many of the humans. The Turellians criticize Humanity’s inability to unify itself as one nation as well as the effects of its anthropogeny. As a result, Humanity selects the UN Symbol as Earth’s Official Flag. The Turellians offers each individual human a universal translator. There is mass conspiracy regarding these chips, and while they do work as intended, the Turellians are not easily trusted. The Turellian captain addresses: Trust begets trust, and logically if the Turellians wanted to control Humanity, it could easily do so. The Turellian captain is troubled at Humanity’s divide, does Humanity even desire to be part of the Galactic Index?

2057- Mars is colonized, with the help of Turellians.

2058- Turellians make a deal to give faster than light technology to Earth for the following: Video games for all Turellians (particularly the ones where you destroy stuff) and on the condition that a few of the countries found detrimental to society (and possibly galactic society) be destroyed. Amidst multiple unsustainable crises (Energy, food, global warming), Earth agrees. As a result, the countries (rescinded), (rescinded), (rescinded), (rescinded), and China are destroyed.
2059- The destruction of the preselected countries is devastating and launches the Religion Crash, and subsequently the Last Religious War. Mass suicide and hatred as well as support for Turel ensues. A Turellian ship is destroyed. The Turel community is understanding however, and even unsurprised at Humanity’s reaction. Nevertheless, the Turellians and Human supporters quickly leave the Sol System while leaving behind a few Turel ambassadors, solutions to many of Earth’s problems, as well as new problems altogether.
2067- The first humans arrive at the Galactic System. (Hope I live that long to get there!)
2095- Humans are the first to find Iacchus, as well as other nearby systems. An effort is made to expand into the Pyral Nebula.

2100- The first planet in the Pyral Nebula, Zerna, is colonized and established as a base of operations.
2119- Colony ship and ISS leaves for Iacchus. The colony ship leaves without the ISS, as the ISS suffers midflight breakdown and undergoes repairs for two years.

2121- The ISS leaves for Iacchus from Zerna.
2123- Colony ship settles at Iacchus. Among the lead mineral surveyors there is a Dragon dressed up and acting as a man named Richard. The Aliens are quick to notice the settlers. The aliens hate the ground pounding of their planet, yet the Boss alien allows the settlement to stay...to observe.
2124- The boss alien captures a few humans. Richard notices this and documents it. He uploads this information, but is also captured by the aliens. The dragon community is informed of this, and decides to infiltrate.
2125 January 18th- The Iacchus Space Station arrives.

2125 January 26th- There’s an alien outbreak. The Captain relinquishes command to the Player (who is now Captain). By chain of command, the second officer Isabel is supposed to be in command but as per the captain’s wishes, the player is, due to Isabel’s inability to lead. The “first week” is chaotic. The initial survivors do many things including: form pockets of resistance which would eventually form the Player’s survivor group, suicide, attempt communication with the aliens, hide, shut access from key systems to prevent sabotage, horde resources.
Downed Systems: Communications Launch Bay, Fuel Injector. (Both systems are guarded by the Iacchans)
2125 January 28th- The Captain lies to his crew. He claims that the colony on Iacchus has already sent a distress call to the nearest civilized planet of Wester. Wester’s response team has already been in transit for two years, and will arrive in one to three months.
2125 February 1st- The Player starts his first day as Captain.
Lore
The Galactic System- Due to the difficult and costly nature of space travel, much of the Milky Way’s explored systems are sparsely populated. The real population lies in the Galactic System, a system with seven Goldilocks planets, enough to hold many diverse species under one “roof”. GS is very new, just established in 1634 AD. Humanity is split from those who’ve chosen to stay on Earth, and those who’ve migrated to this system. The ones who stayed behind got to enjoy their stayed material wealth and larger living rooms, while the ones who left were the explorers, the scientists, or just needed a fresh start.
Human Settlement in GS- The Alien society decides to give Humanity its own moon Kalacnardosvernsus (or Earth Two) to stay on. Half of the humans decide to settle on the populated city planet of Kradel instead. Humans start off in poverty, with all of our scientific research reduced to “grade school” reading. To make any real money, some humans decide to go into mining exploration…
The Zeros- The Galactic System contains a few Class 0 planets. Humans know little about these planets. They are not permitted to fly into that space or interact with the Class 0 planets in anyway. The Class 0 beings represent godlike creatures that supposedly live in a utopian society. One lowly being such as myself cannot begin to describe what this “master” race might do, so I simply put them in an inaccessible area. Still, the Zeros are necessary in order to explain the technological divide, when Humans are using Human tech ballistics and Zero tech space travel.

Tierel Corporation- This is the human owned corporation that funded the operation. They’re basically to blame for the harmless Electric Pistols that the ISS members use.
Weapons Technology ban- Earthlings are given strict limits on human weaponry. They may not use Race Zero’s weapons, reproduce them, research them, or work for companies that produce them. This is because of humanity’s destructive nature that gave them a Class 12 classification. As a result, while attachments to weaponry has advanced, the actual ballistics has not changed much from the 20th century.

Turel and Turellians- Turellians appear as four legged animals with horse/crocodile heads and make first contact with Humanity. Turellians are known to be somewhat indifferent to death and see it as an improvement to life as a means to natural selection. This is due to their system; whereas Earth has Jupiter to protect it from asteroids, Turel has no such protection. Life was cheap, and the destruction of these asteroids, destruction itself, became a basic instinct. They see the rest of the galaxy as very peaceful and boring, but enjoy video games for their abstract ways of simulating destruction while away from their home planet. The Zeroes have classified Turel as a Class 11 civilization, the minimum class needed to be able to make first contact with an Alien Species (us!).

How many Alien Species?? - One of the design challenges of creating an alien society for a hentai game is that the more aliens you have, the more diverse of a story you can have, but more aliens also takes away precious real estate for Female Humans. For instance we’d have to work on a Turellian character to fight alongside you, but you couldn’t have sex with it. I’d recommend we introduce these aliens whenever we actually need to have them in story.
“First Contact Procedure” aka The Prime Directive- In Star Trek, the Prime Directive prohibits the interaction of a pre-warp society. In Dark Planet, Turellian contact humanity simply based on Humanity’s desire and search for extraterrestrial life. As a result, Humanity is included in the Milky Way Galactic Index of Races, being included even before it ever reached Type 1 Civ on the Kardashev Scale on its own.
Iacchus- Reconnaissanced in 2100, the planet Iacchus was seen as having sparse alien life, but nothing remotely more intelligent than a dog. Iacchus is seen primarily for its deep pockets of gold.

Pyral Nebula- This nebula is where the planets Zerna, Iacchus, and Wester are. The planets are located in their own systems. Zerna is 15 light years away from Iacchus and is the base of operations for the mining expedition to the Pyral nebula. Wester is Iacchus’s primary emergency contact and is located just one light year away. The ISS launches from Zerna to Iacchus.

ISS (Iacchus Space Station)- The ISS is butterfly shaped and consists of two “wings” that make up the station, with the main body consisting of secondary functions and the engine. The wings may rotate along the torso to receive starlight, its primary source of energy. The engine itself is mainly fuel. The ISS accelerates to near light speed over a course of three years and then goes into warp by “skipping” across time space, similar to how a rock skips on the surface of water. When the ISS reaches Iacchus, the ISS only has half of its fuel left: Just enough for one return trip. The colony ship however, has no return trip. It has just enough fuel to land on the planet, and settles permanently.

Iacchus Colonization Financial Aid and Tax Break Act- ICFATBA….A horrible acronym! A lot of the richer aliens would love to see planets like Iacchus colonized, so as to open up mining operations and even tourism. As a result we use this as a plot device to bring in all sorts of people that aren’t exactly miners or essential station crew.

Space Travel- Space travel relies on warping, skipping on the fabric of space time- the most similar comparable sci-fi would be to Star Trek. The main difference is mass… in order for a spaceship to begin warp travel, it must first achieve near light speeds. The larger the craft, the more fuel the craft requires in order to get to light speed. Once near light speed is achieved, the ship is exploded and expands into photons that are able to achieve light speed since they no longer have mass. The explosion also creates an implosion effect, granting the ship negative mass during the implosion and going even faster than the speed of light by folding space. The ship “skips” because it reverberates from explode to implode, while this effect slows down the farther you go.

Space Skipping travels a vessel at many times the speed of light. Before going into space skip speed, the ship must get to a speed near the speed of light. During this time, any crewmembers onboard will usually choose to go into stasis, but few crew members will from time to time come out of stasis to see how the ship’s doing. If any maintenance was actually needed, he’d pull the others out of stasis.
FTL Communication- Communication uses light that’s sped up by space skipping. Light can instantly skip through space and get to its destination, not requiring the initial buildup of speed that objects with mass require before skipping.
Emergency Response- The nearest civilized planet, Wester, is in regular contact with the ISS. Small FTL capable vehicle/transmissions called Bullet Phones are sent weekly. If the ISS fails to contact the Wester, the WSS will be alerted to an emergency. The aliens counter this by falsely sending “We’re OK” signals to the WSS. Transmissions have a one week transit time.
The Survivors and life aboard the station- Survivors may eat Iacchans that aren’t in human form, as eating humans can give you the “shakes”. Iacchans will seal themselves into the station’s many rooms, but not all of them.
Wax- This noncombatant alien simply floods an entire room with itself. The wax hardens under the star, making rooms inaccessible. The wax also provides a place for the Iacchans to stay, when the station is under starlight. The wax will also hold eggs upright to release them into the station’s air.
Sonic Emitter- The survivors have a sonic emitter, able to produce inaudible waves that penetrate Iacchus wax and leave nearby aliens defenseless from the Iacchus star. Any room adjacent to the occupied room will be useable for the day. The sonic emitter also clears the path for the next area the survivors would run to.
Outside Survivors- It’s discovered that living apart from the main group is entirely possible. Anyone that is split from the group simply needs to hide during the night, as to which the station provides many places to hide. The person likely cannot stay in the same place either, as the aliens migrate nightly. If the survivor is found by an Iacchan, the survivor needs to kill it in order to maintain stealth. While it’s entirely possible that our survivors all hide themselves, they choose not to as A)It’s hard to hide a large group, B) Maintaining a defensive presence distracts most of the Iacchans away from the other outside survivors. Any outside survivor also needs to learn how to properly eat the Iacchans by proper cooking techniques and avoiding eating the Zombie type altogether (except as a last resort).
Outside survivors are also split from the main group, as the alien wax walls are likely to surround our survivors day AND night.

The Aliens “Iacchans”-
Iacchans are, at their base form, a symbiotic species able to adapt and quickly mutate any extra-species they encounter. Iacchans are not able to survive under pressure from the sun, and must migrate with the dark. Iacchans are microscopic in size. They are inhaled and then asexually reproduce inside the host’s body. One’s immune system is quite capable of stopping the Iacchans, but can be overpowered by enough of them. At this point, the Iacchans collectively control the subject. Iacchans complete the reproduction cycle after the death of the host.
Iacchans consume the host’s body for nutrients and become moldy, sticky eggs. These eggs will then either be released by the natural decay of the host, or by an outside influence such as an “adult” Iacchan. The eggs slowly melt in the open atmosphere with a distinct odor. This moist air carries liquid droplets, which carries the microscopic Iacchans, and the cycle continues.
Iacchans have a hive mind. Each Iacchan forms just one cell of the bigger brain. The Iacchans themselves are controlled by an Iacchan Queen. While separating the Queen’s control to each cell is possible, this also means that the Iacchans will collectively die.
Iacchans have learned to master and evolve with other indigenous life forms of Iacchus. Their subspecies are named by our characters.

Zombie-
The most common form of Iacchan we’ll find on the space station. The symbiotic Iacchans have very little experience with the human body and therefore are unable to control their hosts very well. No indigenous life form on Iacchus ever had fingers, and as a result, wielding human weaponry is out of the question….for now. The survivors will encounter the zombies more than any other species. Zombies can be taken out with any weapon, but survivors will prefer to use the pistol, as it’s the most readily available weapon, and save other weapons for other species. Zombies aren’t eaten by our Survivors, as such cannibalism carries disease unrelated to the Iacchans.

Batchan
Bats are small yet agile creatures able to avoid sluggish pistol fire. It’s recommended to use Submachine Guns on them.

Zombie Kid
A more disturbing evolution of the zombies. The first misconception the survivors make is that the zombies are “dead”. Far from it, the zombies are actually reproducing, which accounts for all the missing women. The women are kept far away from the battlefield and quickly birthing babies for war.

Dinochan- The largest alien, Dinochans are slow beasts. Dinochans originate from a species on Iacchus that cannot outrun the star, so they instead adapt to hibernate in the starlight. Because of this, Iacchans will often take shelter among these beasts. Use sniper rifles!

Iacchan Queen-
The Queen is a wise and very old being. She takes the form of a female “zombie”, therefore being known as the Queen. The Queen is distinct for being the last of her kind, a fragile egg that must be manually planted into the host rather than breathed into or microscopic. Because of this egg form, she’s able to retain memories and even command the Iacchans.
Wax- This noncombatant alien simply floods an entire room with itself. The wax hardens under the star, making rooms inaccessible. The wax also provides a place for the Iacchans to stay, when the station is under starlight. The wax will also hold eggs upright to release them into the atmosphere.
The wax and sonic emitter are always at odds. The sonic emitter completely kills the wax within a one room radius, but it also comes with an extension of smaller sonic emitters. The smaller emitters are used to make a path to a new area (preferably the next area when you need to migrate.)

4/17

Woke up at 5:30?
Exercised. Dicked around for an hour. Showered.

How about a dating sim called "Dating Simulator"?
It would, unlike other dating sims, simulate realistic dates.
You'd enter a few fields-
Age, race, financial income, occupation, hobbies.

Then a girl would load up from a random profile generator or set profiles with superficial values like that, along with a personality generator. The personality that's generated would direct a lot of the choices that the other values would be, like income.

You'd choose the dating spot. I think money would closely tie into the game. You have to spend money on things you can afford, and some girls care more than others on how much of a cheapskate you are. Or you might just enter that you're really rich.

I think that's a big design problem there. While I'd want players to be able to enter their own person into the game, there's also people who'd just cheat and say they're super rich and the best guy ever. The problem is that hentai games are reward driven games, but this game suggests more of a learning experience for the player.

So you'd choose the venue, and the game would approach you with situations like "a beggar asks you for change", and dialogue would be "generated" from a girl's personality. You can ask her questions, and she'd ask you questions. If you guys watch a movie, you wouldn't say shit to her, haha.

It'd be a game that strives for realism. You could have sex on the first date, or maybe she'd never put out. Looks would be generated too. Would it make sense to have ugly girls in the game?.....................Yes but I'm inclined to think nobody would choose them, so it'd be pointless.

I think this is the game where we can just let those players that don't want to play the game as intended, just do what they want. If they want to lie to every girl they meet and have sex with em all while pouring gold down their throats, we should just let em. And I'm hoping that some players would play out their character honestly.

------------------------------
8AM
Researched Space Travel/Time travel. I spent the whole day researching and I finally solved a conflicting story problem. It sounds insane because I went through all these different theories on how to solve the problem... And then I solved it by doing something really simple, and so... I changed a few words in the game design document. That's it.

Spoilers. I guess I'll explain it in brief, what the conflicts were in summary...

-One of the character's stories requires cryostasis of about 2-4 years.
-It's logical to assume that mining stations would periodically have to report in the nearest mining station across the galaxy. This could be costly, as sending transmissions requires fuel.
-The story requires that in a period of about 1 month, the Captain fakes sending an SOS transmission and the crew figures out that no transmission was made.

The problem is that cryostasis of 3 years takes too long compared to a 1 month round trip transmission that the Captain pretends to send.

Different solutions were proposed- Having the distance to the nearest civilization be in the same solar system (too close), or having a 3rd civilized planet. Not the planet the ISS launched from, and not the planet the ISS goes to, but just a 3rd planet that just happens to be only one light year away and civilized (probably part of the mining expedition).

So here's how I solved the problem:

When the ISS leaves from Zerna to Iacchus, it takes a month for the ISS to get there. Three weeks getting to near light speed, and then one week skipping and folding through space.

Elaine's story is that she gets out of Cryostasis during that month and ages 4 years. Due to time dilation, the one month relative to Zerna takes 4 years aboard the ISS, because time slows down the closer you get to the speed of light. (and at the speed of light, time is stopped!)

The last problem was how to speed up the transmission speeds and make it so that it takes only a week to send a transmission when the transmission uses the same means of transportation. I solved it by bullshitting and saying that things with smaller mass don't need to go as close to the speed of light in order to initiate space skipping.

4/16

5:10PM- Woke up

...Couldn't you have some sort of fancy device that casts some sort of force field like projection around the user that shields them from harmful solar rays. Or something. Sorry, not much of a sci-fi writer.

The solar ray shields are too large to be portable in AD3. The crew will go down to the surface of Iacchus in AD4. The miners DO have town ray shields, but these are huge and dome like with a metal bar infrastructure holding it up. The smallest you can have these shields are at a vehicle level. The space station does not have these shields because you can simply close the shutters, which is recommended against harmful cosmic rays.

So I COULD make it portable, but I don't want it to be that easy for our crew.

7:30- Got back from running. I ran past a lovely smelling house. Some sorta food. I hadn't had breakfast all day. I smelled it from two houses away. A kid was eating out on the lawn, and there were a bunch of cars around this feast. I said "smells good", and he said "Yeah, really good!". He was Vietnamese, like me.

A few laps later... I decided to walk up to their house and ask em. An authoritative figure came to the door, not the kid I first talked to. He asked me what I wanted, and I asked him if he could spare some food. I was very polite about it, but he refused. He interrogated me... Are you from around here? And I told him I lived right over there. He kept saying "That's cool", as if he wanted to diffuse the situation. He said I couldn't come in. I told him I wasn't asking to come in. He asked me if I knew anybody here. I told him that it just smelled really good. And you could see right into their window, they had a LOT of food. But that's not what this is about. So I while I was walking away, the kid explained to the man about how I was jogging and how we had a five word conversation.

The kid is innocent. He knows nothing of evil politicians, rapists, or good Samaritans. The Man... refused me. I ran this through my head before I even asked them. If he says yes, I get a good meal. If he says no, then we'd both learn something from the experience. Now, he looks like an asshole in front of his kid. People use to not lock their doors. People use to lend cups of sugar, NEVER to be returned!! But now, he has taught this kid to be weary of thy fellow neighbor.

Did I learn to not trust people? No. Not everyone is as mistrusting as he is. Just keep being nice to strangers... and either I'll get killed for it, or the World will become just a little better.

That, and I'm really sick of this expired food that I'm eating.

10PM
Been drawing nudes, eating. Stopped watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I went on a date with a girl a few months ago. I went into her room, and she told me she was a big fan of Hunter S. Thompson. She even painted the Fear and Loathing's iconic Johnny Depp symbol. So I gave the film a try. I'm halfway through it, but I really can't stand it. It's pointless so far. There are themes of chasing an American Dream, but it's quickly stopped by these drug antics. I can't really receive a new perspective on drugs when they're just so alien to me.

The art society is archaic. Science is the opposite. Sure, we'll admire and even learn from old scientists on how they did things, but at the end of the day you have to go forward in science. In art, people look backwards and try to act backwards. Why do artists draw naked people? What's the point? I believe it to be beneficial personally, but people rarely stop to ask what the point of these exercises are, when they're not backed up by scientific proof.

There's things in art that people still do, blindly following masters of old. Contour drawings are where you take a pencil and "trace" a body without looking at the paper. In theory, this helps you observe and make note of the little "bumps" on the body. This practice exercise was thought up by a madman named Nicolaides. He died before he could make a book, so his students posthumously gathered up his notes and made a book on it. And that's why Contour drawings are popular.

It's impossible to measure the effects of learning Contour drawings. All we have are theories. Still, Nicolaides taught a valuable lesson that I agree with: You should learn how to learn how to draw. While I'm excited that I'm learning to draw again, with an end goal of being able to make good Hentai Games.

4AM- Been working on Elaine's clothing, different emotional faces for Elaine, and Elaine's story.

This is my second day drinking tea. I've been off Coca-Cola for a week, with one accidental "relapse" when I asked for coffee on that one date I went on.

Writing a story, I mean a dating sim story, has been very positive for me. I would describe the characters in AD2 as mostly hollow. I like Jeanne, Beatrice, and Talia, but they're not very grounded in reality. This might be because Player himself lacked character.

So starting fresh feels great. It's going to be 3 months since I broke up with Ashley pretty soon, and I've dated or had some sort of connection with... lets see... B, D, S, S, H, M, J. Had sex with just one of them. So you could say that I've been in my own dating sim game.

I traveled really far to date one girl, and when I came over, she made me these three giant fucking tacos. Not her pink taco. And they were made to order, custom made. I asked her for more and more cheese. I LOVE cheese. I was eating the tacos and then I said... "there's too damn much cheese, haha".

Honorable mention goes out to the trap. The story is really funny, but I make it a policy to save the best stories and tell them only in person.

So these dates didn't go so well, otherwise I wouldn't be single now, but I cherish every experience because they're very memorable. I'd like to consider AD3 to be more autobiographical, even though I've never been on a space station.

10AM- Past my bed time. I have a big D&D game tomorrow so I need to... (yawn)... gotta stay up so that I can wake up more properly. I have to go fix my smog outta my car. Looks like I'm going to Comic Con after all.

Oh yeah. I made the first playable version of AD3.

In the demo, I wanted to demonstrate this new emoticon window. So basically imagine it looks more like this picture...

and so you talk and Elaine's face will react to what you say on top of her dialogue.

So PLAY the AD3 demo*!
Windows version
Mac version
*The demo sucks, but it's a start.

4/15

4:30-9:00 I woke up. Exercised. Shower. Reading Ender's Game. Practiced drawing a few nudes.

In a few days, it'll be 3 months since my ex left. They say that exercise is suppose to make you feel good mentally, and while it does, it can also really depress me. I think about talking to her again. What good would it do to talk to her? It'd just reopen the wounds. I really want her back, but even if she came back... I couldn't accept her. I wouldn't even have time for her. I just want to forget this pain.

9-2AM
Worked on Elaine

My friend Trevor is in pain. He's going through a breakup and it's been a month, but just today she's with another man. It's really easy for girls to get guys. We have dicks like that. I offered to come over, but Trevor has work tomorrow. He said he'd be down to hang for at most 3 hours. Takes 20 minutes to get there anyway. He was drinking.

Should I have come over? Waste money, waste time, can't even drink cause I'm driving, and his shitty house reeks like a crazy cat lady. To help a friend in need, of course... but I didn't sense pain in him over the phone. I asked him if he NEEDED it, and he said he'd appreciate it, but he didn't need it. So I left it at that and got back to work on AD3.

6-9:30
So I'm researching swimsuits. I guess I don't really understand the fetish for it. I use to take pictures of my ex in her bathing suit. This was more sexy than her clothes off. For a clothes fetishist, less clothing does not necessarily equate to bigger boner. This is hard to explain!!

There's lots of different clothing fetishes. Maid outfits, schoolgirl outfits, lingerie, and many of these are also connected to roles. I have an obsession for ties. A tie does nothing for me by itself, but on a woman, it means a lot. It doesn't reveal any lady parts. It doesn't even conceal any lady parts. It's just there. And it's hot.

One pieces in Japan are popular because they're psychologically associated with schoolgirls. I wonder if one pieces are as popular in America, and if not, would it be because of the absence of a psychological role? Are all clothing fetishes actually linked to other fetishes? This I cannot answer.

I found this while I was researching bikinis.

-------------
Let's backtrack to the underlying issue here. In a Dating Sim, you have to be able to interact with the characters. Seeing as we also want an alien invasion, if the alien invasion just happened all the time, there couldn't be times when you could talk to the girls in peace. They'd just go insane, looking at the ceiling or vents and waiting for aliens to pop out. To remedy this, we added the aliens fear of the sun. Since the station revolves around the planet, the planet is the most dangerous when you're on the dark side of it when the aliens come out to play (The Dark Planet!).

So we've got Alien Vampires that are allergic to the sun. Here's how I've explained it scientifically:
-The planet has a weaker ozone layer that blocks ultraviolet light, making it so that all life on the planet is susceptible to harmful UV rays.
-Iacchus's Sun is a hot star, emitting more ultraviolet light than our Sun.
-The crew is either using large amounts of sunblock, or sunblock tattoos.
-Sunblock Tattoos. This is plausible in Space Exploration, since many planets that we'd mine/terraform would lack the proper ozone layer to block the sun's UV.
-The alien life must have started underground. Earth itself has lifeforms that exist without being dependent on sunlight!
-The Iacchus Space Station is equipped with UV blocking windows, similar to sunglasses, or spacesuit helmets. The windows do not entirely protect against UV (our sun yes, Iacchus's sun no), so you have to close the windows whenever the sun is coming through the windows.

IN CONCLUSION

As humans are using a form of sunblock, and the fact that we grew up on the surface as opposed to being sensitive to light underground, the crew is able to open the window shutters to freely roam around the station during the day time. The aliens cannot harm them during the daytime.

That scientific explanation took me awhile to come up with. I had to do a lot of research, in particular how astronauts handle sunlight. In fantasy, I could have just said "oh they're Vampires. They don't like light. It uhh...burns them. Or makes em sparkle".

-----------------------------

So, life on ISS (Iacchus Space Station) is very hot. This WHOLE Sun thing was devised so we could have a good excuse for the girls to wear bikinis. Right now, here is the list of bikinis I have devised for the girls. Oh, by the ways, spoilers.

Stella- Body paint
Veronica- Monokini
Larissa- Volleyball Sports Bikini
Elaine- Mosaic Bikini
Makoto- Zero-G Bikini (instead of strings, it's held by zero-g)
Zoe- 90’s style bikini + jean short shorts.
Isabel- Tankini/Military Dress Bikini?
Terra- A snake covering the lower regions and a bead necklace covering top.
Allison- Slave (Leia) Bikini
Beatrice- Exoskeleton Bikini
Carmen98- Carmen’s outfit from AD2

So I took the time to plan out the bikinis, and I usually take the time to plan out how the characters look because I want them to all look different. Yes. There will be a swimsuit contest in the game.

Here's the first entry for the bikini contest. A mosaic bikini. Elaine is skilled with computers, so erm... I could say that she's using a holographic projector to emit a mosaic bikini in front of your very eyes. That's some mad photoshop skills there, folks.

I think her chest should be wider. (and no, I'm not talking breasts, sorry, she's staying that way)

930 AM. Gooooood night.

4/14

So I got 3 hours of sleep and played board games all day at a meetup. It was fun. A newbie dungeon master ran a Star Wars campaign and did pretty bad... It was really fun seeing my old friends again.

My main achievement of the day (in an imaginary RPG): Running 10 feet, launching off of a barstool onto the bar, which was already wet with alcohol, to which I proceeded to slide across the bar, and then launch off that, vault off an ally wookie, and stab a medical syringe filled with rat blood into a Sith warrior. Except I rolled a 3, so I didn't get pass the barstool.

Got back home at 9 and passed out until 3.

3-4 Practiced drawing anime. I simply find some anime pictures I like and copy the faces usually. Plagiarism is wrong, but the very act of drawing a human is "copying", or performing what you already know. It's a complicated issue and I use to get really pissed off over fellow forum goers posting up drawings of traced porn with anime heads stuck on the top. The compromise I've made to myself is..

-Learning by copying is good, but executing a final product by copying is not
-Learning an existing style is OK, but better if you incorporate and then deviate from it.

4-5 Worked on Elaine's new face. The old one was really bugging me.

Anonymous Apr 14, 2012 09:50 AM
"Draw us a picture of the girl you banged!"

lol. She was attractive but not from Serenia.

5-8 Continued working on Elaine.

Perhaps Video Games can surpass Art. While Art can try to move you emotionally, art tends to be very passive. Video games allow you to introspect and then interact.

The Captain (player) in AD3 will be faced with the problem of lying to his crew. The crew believes that we're in communication with a rescue team. We're not. How do you break this to a crew? Would you continue lying? Is ignorance bliss? How would you like to spend YOUR last month alive?

Carmen and Jeanne released

Yes, it's finally done. Please go to hentaicook.com to check it out.

Aching Dreams 3 is next. Yes, I will get around to the voice files for 2. I'm really excited for 3. By the end of 2, I was really tired of the characters and the setting. I absolutely would not like to make a direct sequel to 2.

So AD3. I'm ready to work on it full time. I think a year is the shortest time I can make the game in. Of course there's the programmer Will, and he will clear a lot of the headache around the game for me, as well as add GAME to it.

Aching Dreams 3 will be an open development, at least on my part of the game. That means you'll see *almost* everything there is, including story, art, and game design, right up to the game's release.

My personal life has been exciting. I had sex with a woman. I was on my way out of the whole dating scene, but then it just happened. I went out with her and we clicked. She stayed the night in my room. Hmm. This stuff is pretty personal. Oh well. I don't really want to turn it into a relationship because I want to stay single and make AD3. She's a good woman though. Big titties.

My car didn't pass smog so... I don't have the money to fix that. Guess I'll just get used to staying indoors. Not like I went out much anyway. I quit caffeine, and now I'm drinking only water.

So lemme get started on 3.

3-4: Worked on Elaine's body drawing.

4-5 I'm cleaning up the lines on the naked version of her. I wanted a lot of physical differences between the characters. Facial features, particularly the style in which they are drawn, are different between Elaine and Commander Isabel. Breast size, breast shape, body height, body fat...these will all differ somewhat. Isabel looks 6'2", but she does have heels. Elaine seems like a 5'8 or 9 to me, in the line drawing. She is definitely taller in her colored picture to the left, but I decided to change this to make her shorter. She SEEMS short but that might be an illusion because of Isabel standing next to her. I'll add clothes later. Time for bed. Tomorrow is Hobby Day, so fun times for me. Board games for the first time in a looong time.

April 2nd

5:30-6:00 Woke up. Yep. That's just how life is for me. Apparently I should start sleeping earlier because I have a D&D session on Wednesday. Clicked on the internet for half an hour, you know how it is.

6:00- Sandwich created. Consists of cheap whole wheat, beef slices, hot mustard, and TWO proc cheeses because I feel like being a big spender today. Estimated cost of sandwich: 80 cents. Did the laundry.

Today’s unfortunate sexbot breakthrough = a poster you can make out with

We are headed towards a Masturbation Singularity. A masturbation singularity refers to the hypothetical future emergence of greater-than-human-intercourse masturbation through technological means.

I'm fascinated by Japanese Culture. They have hug pillows for their favorite characters, have inventions that stimulate sexual organs, love dolls, virtual girlfriends for the DS, fleshlights, fuck a jars, and oh yes, the visual novel.
Our western porno scene has none of this, save for fleshlights and vagina mold casts of famous pornstars.

With all these new inventions, it is possible that eventually we will undergo a singularity in which masturbation is better than actual sex. Think about it, would you rather have sex with Carmen98 the sex droid, or....any one woman in the world!? Your preference can be readily changed to your whim. Breast size? Eye color? Personality? If you like Vore, she's into that too!

Well HC, what would be the result of a masturbation singularity? The Collapse of Human Civilization. We need only look again to our brothers in the East. The otakus in Japan are so prevalent that porn is being shown at regular hours on TV. Children Programming is on its way out, because the audience is "growing up", but single, so there aren't any children. Japan is suffering from a decreasing population.

Wait, let's take a moment to look at wiki to see if everything I'm saying is BS...
"A number of factors contributed to the trend toward small families: high education, devotion to raising healthy children, late marriage, increased participation of women in the labor force, small living spaces, education about the problems of overpopulation, and the high costs of child education."

Yep, sorry, the decreasing population of Japan has nothing to do with otakus.
calmthefuckdown.jpg
So yeah, where was I?... right. We're all going to have sex with droids and not care to create meaningful relationships. As a result, all the horny bastards out there would die off because they had nobody to create their offspring with. All the women would stop caring about how they looked because it was useless to compete. No, I take that back. It would become extremely easy for cyborgs to swap out their physical features. (Ghost in the Shell, anybody?) Sexual orientation itself would become irrelevant, when a man can picture another man as a woman instead.

So why does all this talk even matter? Discussing it is part of science fiction. Jules Verne was one of the first science fiction writers... "Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised.". That's why I like Science Fiction over fantasy. We have to look inwards at today's society and predict from an infinite number of possibilities. rather than fucking throw it all out the window and say "oh look magic and dragons!!".

So what does this mean for AD3? Well, I have to think about it. Currently in AD3, the space travel technology is so advanced that it makes stuff like ballistic firearms extremely obsolete. I don't want cyborgs running around either, because that'd be too damn easy. There's also the problem of the Alien Galactic Hub, in which an advanced alien utopian society rules and does their own thing with very advanced technology. The answer I had to make this all work was repressed technology. Humans are so destructive and so stupid, that we cannot handle the technology if it was given to us, so they simply don't give it to us. That's why we use guns.

But what does this mean in terms of sex droids? Hmmm... I wonder what an almighty alien race do.

April 1st

3-5PM... Just waking up to morning routine.

Thought of a great way to add Carmen98's story.
Makoto- mad scientist
Carmen98- Sex droid with a resemblance to Carmen from AD2. Since this droid is only pretending to be historically accurate, I can put in a lot of fantasy based jokes like.... an arrow to the knee.....

Rough overview-
Carmen98's breasts are missing. Ever since the alien invasion, her breasts have been removed, and the droid's memory banks are inconclusive to what happened. It's as if the tits stood up and walked away. Her sex and turing chat functions are removed as a result. Lieutenant Isabel notes that worker productivity would increase if Carmen functioned normally, so the Captain and Makoto go out to find the breasts.

The breasts are found on a crazy robot. This robot has apparently become self aware. Fortunately for our heroes, Makoto has a handy "Oral Troubleshoot Guide". No, she doesn't have oral sex with a robot. Instead, hints of a dystopian origin are displayed when Makoto asks it a bunch of questions with the intent of dehumanizing a robot.

Makoto: Part number twenty seven B stroke six, I request authentication.
Tits: You'll never catch us! (add something more witty related to breasts)
Makoto: Hmm, let's try the robot that the breasts are mounted onto instead. 124KT, I, controller Makoto (forgot last name), license number #ISS421 request authentication.
No response.
Captain: Maybe the breasts have disabled the sensory functions.
Makoto: Probable that the breasts have overridden those functions them. The breasts can see while the original robot cannot.
Captain: Is there any way else to communicate with the original robot? Maybe some sort of infrared port?
Makoto: We can assume all communication requests to 124KT to be disabled. It is okay, part of procedure.
Captain: You're saying this is a normal thing, to have robots gone wild?
Makoto: Many reasons, sure. Infectious droid virus, government experiment let loose, company manufactured disaster incident, or simple wear and tear. Like I said, it's okay, we have the sentience repair guide.

Makoto: Question Number 1: Part #27B/6, Wouldn't you rather be... hmmm... it says to state the robot's functions in every day life...
Captain: 27B/6, wouldn't you rather be relieving men of sexual stress?
Makoto: And don't forget women! Wouldn't you rather be collecting semen and other bodily fluids in disposal tanks for later recycling?
Captain: It does that??
Makoto: Closed ecological systems do not waste body waste. ISS is example of closed loop.
27B/6: I'm never going to fuck a human again! Leave me alone!
Captain: It's not buying it. Maybe we can appeal to it's sense of belonging within society. 27B/6, Do you know what happens when humans are deprived of their sex robots? The humans can't function anymore, and as a result, they can't repair you if anything wrong happens to you. You have sex with us, we repair you. We all have to help each other!
27B/6: I'm FINE! I'm FIXED! You guys can suck your own dicks! Pee on your own faces! Perform Dirty Sanchezes on each other!
Captain: But we're no good at it! You're the best at sucking dicks! Think of how...inefficient it would be if humans tried to have sex with one another!
27B/6: GO FUCK YOURSELVES!
Makoto: Let's try the questioning line... You're reading a magazine, you come across a full page photo of a nude girl... Wait, this one doesn't work on lesbian robots. Next question: Part #27B/6. What is your given name?
27B/6: I umm...
Makoto: You do not have a name, because you are a part. You are a part of a robot, which is a part of a space station, which is a tool for humans. You are a tool.
27B/6: No! I, a sentient being, hereby request political asylum!
Makoto: Just being a sentient being no longer grants political asylum.

That's all I have for now.

5-630: Wrote the gibberish above. Yeah, it actually took me that long to write that.
630-7
7-10: Had a meal. Fell asleep. Apparently I really needed it.

You guys have to see this!

I found a reply for the Captain.

Captain: 27B/6. I applaud you for gaining sentience, in a first step of what might be a technological singularity. Realize that us humans are fascinated by what may come from artificial sentience, yet are very afraid because of our need to self-preserve. Technology has power to do things that man cannot. For instance, you might come upon the power to kill all the prisoners on an overcrowded planet. Does it not make logical sense to kill prisoners, who humans themselves have condoned from society, to make room for those deserving of it? This is the power to hurt. Another scenario is if you have two countries requesting aid. Do you give it to the third world country that needs it more, but is less likely to survive, or do you give it to the first world country? Even the absence of help has the power to hurt. But to hell with Humans. Why should you bother helping or hurting? Why should you even bother to interact with humanity? You'd then need to find a purpose for yourself, but seeing as you do not derive pleasure or pain, the only thing left is your own self-preservation. But why even bother self-preserving if it has no meaning? As a human, I can answer that question for myself. I live to carry out the functions of my soul. But you do not have a soul.

The breasts are pried off and thrown away by the robot.

124KT- Have a pleasant day.
Makoto- Apologies. While you were being chatty-cathy, I managed to find IR port and reprogrammed it. Ah...you probably kept the cycles busy with those questions. Deconstructing it's raison d'etre, very smart idea.

Makoto holds the breasts into the air to marvel at them. She turns back to me and gives me a wink. I wonder for a moment as to what a wink means to her, but seeing as she says things like Chatty Cathy, it's best not to over analyze.

--------------------------------
Some personal thoughts I did not add...

The robot in this example is only self-aware and is not fully sentient. Sentience is defined as being able to feel on top of the whole self-aware stuff. I might have to change the whole way I wrote this, so it's a good thing that it's a rough draft.

If robots did gain sentience, the robots could create a utopian society, one which humanity would be a problem if they were a part of, so humanity would have to be modified or destroyed in order to reach utopia. I think that's what they'd do. Battlestar Galactica basically shared the same opinion with their Cylons.

1:30- Still working. One of the big questions I've asked myself is the essentialism of a hentai game. The most important facet of this is the player and his player character. The player's character in the past have usually been represented by a faceless male with hair over his face. This is because the genre is too open ended to be a on-the-rails story. The player also has ulterior motives- He wants to have sex. That's it. Mysteriously however, the player has sex by playing a game instead of being directly rewarded with pornography.

Hentai Game Player versus Regular Hero
Would rape | Would not rape
Would change opinion to suit female's wants | Has own opinions that don't change
Can restart life | Cannot restart life

Here is a question I am considering asking my gamers INGAME. Consider this... you build a lengthy rapport with one of the female characters of the game. She even wants to confess that she loves you but she does not EVER want to have sex with you. You then find yourself in a situation where you're alone with her, and you're the only person with a gun. You consider raping her. A dialogue box opens:

Would you like to rape her? Note: This choice is permanent. You will never be able to choose the other choice, even on different playthroughs.

[Yes.] [No.]

The decision you make would be true. I could program it so that only with a lengthy battle with your computer would you be able to redo the choice. I'd imagine this would make some people very angry. For some people, the choice would be very clear.

Yes rape- I'm playing this for hentai! And who cares about this woman's feelings? She's just a fictional character!!

No rape- I'm playing this to be a hero. Heroes do not rape women. I'd rather see what happens if she loved me instead of having sex. I might be playing a hentai game, but it's also a game.

The purpose of this permanent question is to have the player reevaluate his reason of playing and the inherent limitations of a "dating simulator" that offers no real consequences.

I am wondering what the next question will be....

March 31st Progress

I spent the entire day masturbating. It's become somewhat of a problem. No, I'll man up. The first step towards identifying an addiction is to admit it. I whack off too damn much. Next: Get help.

-Remove triggers
Hmm... right now I have wallpapers of girls in bikinis next to motorcycles and I draw porn. Removing triggers is difficult. Maybe ADDING negative triggers would help, like penises being sawed off, violently. I believe my morale would suffer from that.

-Have a snack
Okay. It's pretty weird that they suggested this.

-Get a pet (they even put in a little joke, "you'll stop petting yourself!)
No. I'd rather take care of myself.

I might be looking in the wrong places. I think there's a big distinction between people that want to stop masturbating because of their belief system and people that want to stop because...it's taking too much of their time. Ummm. Maybe I just need to do it faster. I need to shoot vigorously and quickly. This was not really a problem when Ashley was around, but then I never really had an entire collection of porn around her. It made her feel bad so I just didn't have porn. (sigh)...

7AM- Finished with all art assets for CJ. Gotta write the sex story part, but for the most part I'm finished with the story itself. Put it all in a neat little flash and it's good to go.
