Not in the best mood to work on art today. I'll switch to story for the day. Worked on Veronica's story. Veronica's story is a pretty big challenge for me... She's a doctor but medical dramas tend to bore me. Nothing seems to happen in the show ER... It's the same damn formula of Young/Old person gets injury/illness... Eugh. Maybe I need to watch more of it. I played this game called Lab of the Dead, and they had some interesting ideas on how a researcher would use various stimuli on zombies to provoke a psychological reaction. It's the research notes too. If you've ever played any horror games, they usually have notes on whatever monster's doing what... Except that bores me too. Zombies are just zombies. They're freaggin cliche, there's not much to say to the player in the notes of the games like Resident Evil.
How AD3 zombies work:
Before I explain Veronica's synopsis, I'll go over the zombies in AD3. In AD3, Zombies are humans that are infected with an alien symbiote of pathogens known as the Iacchan Cells. Iacchan Cells come in three variations. The first one is the Control Iacchan, which takes control over the host's body, receives sensory input from the human, and actually relays it to another being, the Iacchan Queen. The queen is this super duper multi-tasker that basically plays an RTS game of controlling a bunch of zombies. The second one is the Attack Iacchan. Iacchan Cells are highly vulnerable to a human's natural immunity system, but the Attack Iacchans seek and destroy a human's T-Cells. It's similar to AIDS, although in this case, the T-cells can also fight back. The T-cells are at war with the Iacchan Cells, and the winner is decided mainly by the host's health before he was infected, and how large the bite mark was. A human host will first show signs of inability to control their body and a deficient immune system (meaning the host will display a variety of illnesses). So zombies are actually people that are still alive, really sick, and mind controlled. Most sick people look kinda gray right? The last Cell is the Carrier cell. Carrier cells are like the Eagles that should have flown the ring into Mordor, carrying the two Control and Attack cells to their human hosts primarily via airway, although the cells tend to deteriorate quickly in the air. When the host dies, the Carrier cells eat at the decaying body and generate a large, fist sized egg, which is essentially just a mass of Iacchan Cells. These eggs can be force fed to a victim to infect the victim quickly.
Medical technology has advanced by 2126. Current day tech is advancing human regenerative limbs and growth of replacement organs. 3D printers are also capable of creating scarce medical equipment and medical implants, but the printer supplies have mostly already been hoarded by people who needed to print guns. Apart from that, Humans have not been able to advance medical technology by much. Sharing medical and weapons tech with other alien nations is not allowed, at least only for a primitive species like Humans, who can't get to Type 1 civilization without nuking their own planet. If the survivors in AD3 had access to a fully staffed and fully equipped medical facility, they would have little trouble dealing with infection as they could just cut off a limb if they were ever bit. On the Iacchus Space Station however, our survivors don't have unlimited supplies to do such feats, so rationing medical supplies becomes essential. Patients not at risk of infection are generally treated with standard present-day medical practices.
Err, so tell me what you think of all that. I feel like George Lucas, not the good original trilogy Lucas, but the washed up prequel Lucas. I haven't been able to really show this stuff to anyone, so it might sound too ridiculous. (shrug) I wonder if Lucas got enough input from people about Jar Jar before going through with the abomination.
There's this whole Disney war that takes place before the game, where Disney emerges from cryostasis and unleashes Mickey Mouse robots to make friends with the aliens and then tries to take over the galaxy for human supremacy, and my peers are kinda 50/50 on that one.
Veronica's story synopsis Second Draft:
Mission 1-V goes to the Captain about wanting to put some time into researching the aliens and possibly finding a cure. He brings her some cadavers. After some basic notes on the zombies, V expresses her need for more materials.
Mission 2- After the player finds some materials around the station, V is able to give a more full report on the Zombies.
Mission 3- Isabel complains about Johnny Redshirt (name subject to change), who is not doing very well to treatment.

My only request is that you keep Johnny Redshirt but ensure that he dies a meaningless death.
