3/28

HC:
Went over the code for AD3. It's like staring into the abyss and letting it consume me. Started writing a little bit of the code for the bunk menu.

Eric:
Coded a bit of battlemap.
Fixed preloader bug...partially.

HC and Eric:
Finished setting up svn stuff to better manage back and forth file transfers.
Discussed redesigning aspects of the map system (considering how to make it easier to code, faster to load, more user friendly, etc). Some good arguing here.
Synchronized sleeping schedules.

  2. I don't mind waiting for the game to be release. However, I'm just curious about what exactly was accomplish with the coding after three years of development before the new programmer started working on the game. Don't mean to criticize but I think you should have replace your previous coder a lot sooner or a least had a back up ready and waiting. There should have been obvious signs that the programmer wasn't as reliable. I was thinking the game was nearly done after your second offbeat campaign and you only need a little more money to release a few months after you reach your stretch goal.

You should have really set up a much stricter deadline for the people working on the game in my opinion.

    1. That's a subject already touched on. The programming aspect was left to the lead programmer at the time while HC himself worked on what was his portion of the workload. That portion, last I saw, was sitting at 98 or 99 percent, so just the touchup stuff left. It was at this time that he begged the question: Where's my code? And thus, the programmer quit without warning. He was left to try and code the entire game by himself while knowing nothing about coding. But he was willing to learn.

Now, there's a new programmer, and HC has taught himself how to use code to some extent. The game is moving forward, and we're receiving updates. As a backer, I'm content with simply that. Why aren't you?

    2. Did the previous programmer accomplish anything during the time when he was still the lead programmer?
